FAQ

Q: Are Lovekraft pedals true bypass?

A: Every Lovekraft pedal is hard wired for true bypass switching. The pedal is completely out of the circuit when switched off.

Q: Do your pedals take an AC adapter?

A: Yes, every Lovekraft pedal can use a 9 volt battery or a standard 2.1mm 9 volt AC adapter like a Boss or Ibanez type.

Q: What kind of wire do you use?

A: We generally use 22 gauge silver plated teflon coated mil-spec wire. This is the heaviest gauge most circuit boards will accept.

Q: Is there any difference between the earlier bigger box and new small box pedals?

A: Aside from the size, no. The circuit, circuit board, wiring and components are identical. Almost all of the original big box Mojos are black with white labels, a very few were silverflake. There are also 20 or so larger box Mojos with Lucibox swirl Painted boxes. All Chupacabras come in the smaller box.

Q: What chip does the Mojo Drive use?

A: The current Mojos use a JRC4558. The earlier Mojos use either a JRC4558 or a JRC14558. There are many dual opamps that work well in this circuit. If you would like to try some different chips, these work well: NE5532, OPA2134PA, LF353, LM1458 and various 4558 from different manufacturers.

Q: Why is your company named Lovekraft?

A: The quick answer is that I liked the name. I am a big fan of a writer from the 1920s named H.P. Lovecraft and thought it was catchy.
